FIRE

I am a 19-year fire service veteran. I have served in volunteer, part-time, and full-time capacities and am currently serving as a Deputy Chief/Training Officer in the central Iowa region. I am passionate about the profession, firefighter safety, and modern suppression tactics. I am also a nationally-registered Paramedic.

I have written nationally-published research papers as part of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer program and have also been published in Fire Rescue Magazine. I have lectured at several fire schools throughout Iowa over the course of my career.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Jacksonville State University. I was also the first Center for Public Safety Excellence accredited Fire Officer (FO) in the state of Iowa.
